FAQ
What size lawn mower do I need for my yard?
The right lawn mower size depends on your lawn’s overall area and layout. For small, flat yards, a compact push mower with a narrow deck (around 16–18 inches) is often enough. Larger or sloped properties benefit from wider decks, self-propelled features or ride-on models. Zero-turn mowers are ideal for big blocks with trees or obstacles. Always consider how much time you want to spend mowing and how easy the machine is to manoeuvre.
Should I choose a petrol or battery-powered lawn mower?
Petrol mowers offer more power and longer run times, making them a strong choice for larger blocks or tougher grass. They’re often better for long sessions but require regular maintenance. Battery-powered mowers are quieter, cleaner and easier to start, with enough power for most suburban lawns. Runtime usually ranges from 30–60 minutes depending on the battery and mower size. If convenience and low upkeep are priorities, battery models are worth considering.
What’s the difference between a ride-on mower and a zero-turn mower?
Ride-on mowers have a traditional steering wheel and are great for wide-open areas with few obstacles. They’re easy to use and often more budget-friendly. Zero-turn mowers use lever steering, allowing sharper, faster turns for navigating trees, garden beds or tight spaces. They’re built for speed and precision but take a little more practice to handle. Both come in various deck widths and engine sizes to suit different property types.
