When to Trim & Prune

One question we are asked a lot here at Wellington Mowers & Chainsaws is "How often should I trim my bushes?" When it comes to trimming, there’s no right or wrong, but we’d recommend pruning when your hedge is dormant. For most, this will mean deep into the winter months; however, every species is unique! Just remember, the more you trim and prune, the thicker your hedge will become. To keep them looking less dense, ease off on the overall pruning and focus on trimming tall shoots as they arise.
